Volunteering is a great way to help Jamboree help others by enhancing the services we provide. Time donated by Jamboree volunteers furthers our mission to strengthen communities, transform lives, and end homelessness. We offer a range of ways for individuals, groups, and corporate teams to engage with our 110+ communities serving 24,700+ residents, from Sacramento to LA and Orange County, to the Inland Empire and San Diego. In 2024, we welcomed the Deloitte team on their annual Impact Day, who filled the community garden at Estrella Springs and prepared care baskets at Finamore Place. In 2026, Wells Fargo partnered with us to make home cleaning kits for over 100 households.
We have a range of volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups, and we're happy to tailor them to your interests when possible. Our goal is to bridge our residents and the community, so we're glad to stay flexible and work with what fits your group best. See below for more information about getting involved.
Our recurring opportunities tend to center around our food pantries and afterschool programs, which run daily, weekly, or bi-monthly depending on need and resident participation. We also host special and holiday events throughout the year, like pool parties, summer luaus, ice cream socials, and movie nights. Volunteers can help by:
These opportunities vary by location and size and are a great fit for individuals or small/medium groups.
For larger groups and corporations, we can connect you with a specific property coordinator or program manager to plan an event centered around your team. While we can't guarantee every request, past experiences have included:
In collaboration with our Volunteer and Intern Department, we'd be glad to help you make a day of it, starting with a property tour to share more about what we do and wrapping up with the event of your choice. Each experience is shaped by the property's location and needs.
Jamboree offers academic internships across Community Impact, Resident Services, Senior Services, and Supportive Services. Interns gain hands-on experience in a real-world work environment while exploring potential career paths in nonprofit affordable housing.
We proudly partner with a range of college and university programs, including but not limited to:
